Stroke is a cerebrovascular disease (cerebral vessels) characterized by the death of brain tissue (cerebral infarction) which occurred due to reduced blood flow and oxygen to the brain.

Risk factors for stroke are high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disorders (atrial fibrillation), obesity, hypercholesterolemia, smoking, alcohol, lack of exercise.

Stroke was divided into two types:

Ischemic stroke, blood flow to the brain stops because atherosclerosis (cholesterol buildup in blood vessel walls) or a blood clot that has clogged the arteries to the brain.

Hemorrhagic strokes, on Hemorrhagic strokes ruptured blood vessels thereby inhibiting normal blood flow and blood seeps into the region in the brain and damage it.
